Hey All! So far Ive created two RD arcade styloe PC games (http://www.karcreat.com/KCGames.html) and I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas for PC games based on RD that they would like to see done? Any concepts, please email me at karcreat@icehouse.net and let me know what you are thinking, lets see if I can bring your idea to life!... K

Heres a still from the newest game Im doing, wherein the player takes the role of Lister (sidescrolling platform style) to destroy a swarm of Flibble clones! This here is the title screen, the Mr Flibble near the title bounces around, back and forth, eyes glowing (animated) and the pics in the lower right change every sec or so...sound is Rimmer stating "...Mr Flibble is VERY cross..." ...Question for those of you interested in this games creation... When you are hit by a laser, Flibble Clone, etc, etc...would you prefer the sort of game that resets your character back at the beginning of said level you are playing, minus a life point...or would you prefer that the character 'react' to being 'hit' by an enemy/bullet, etc...by 'flashing' (and changing animation to an "Im in PAIN!" pose, etc) and have him remain in the same spot, to continue playing from there?
Thanks! K

Hmmm...'In pain' sounds good lol, how about you have a life metre at the bottom and your health bar reduces when you get hit...? Maybe you could gain health by eating curries lol

Hmmm...'In pain' sounds good lol, how about you have a life metre at the bottom and your health bar reduces when you get hit...? Maybe you could gain health by eating curries lol Basically that was the idea, yes... So you prefer the concept of STAYING onscreen where you were hit, and removing 'a life point' for contacting the 'bad item' (laser blast from enemy, Flibble Clone, etc) rather than re-appearing at the START of said level and having to redo all your actions up to the point where you were hit, correct? Anyone else want to 'vote' on this?... (Basically all I have left to do to complete this game and post it here for test playing is to draw/ink/color all the animation frames/cells of the players' Lister character.... In the meantime, I wanted to know what the majority prefer regarding this 'health points/lives' issue, so I can properly program the more popular method for the winning opinion... Thanks! K

Ok... Heres the sketch I did tonight of the players 'Lister', in a standing still stance (at start of game)...what do you think? (Sorry to say a lot of the details I wanted to add, light effects on the leather, small stuff like patches on the jacket, will be lost when the art is reduced down to 75x120!... More soon! K
