for sure! that probably is one of the main reasons, i think that the American versions never worked, well, sure there was Robert as Kryten, but without that chemistry that he and the others had built up over the span of the series, it just wouldn't work.

It would have paind me becuase I respect the creators of RD so much, but if they used Hollywood actors instead of the original cast, I would have boycotted the film.

Same here... You just can't replace the original actors... it's like remaking a classic film - you just can't re-create the feeling of a classic ...
