Hey don't worry, I'm not a Bond fan either, but the only movie I've seen in full is Casino Royale, and that's because it's my b/f's favourite of the series, hehe... Interestingly, I've heard from people that while Dalton wasn't the most popular Bond, he was the closest to the book version in personality and appearance... Never saw Casino Royale, may have to check it out tho...I understand it to be a more satirical take on Bond, tho...Woody Allen, yes? As far as Dalton goes, I just like him as an actor, he seemed very suited to be Bond in my book...loved him as Baron in Flash Gordon, and the villianous B Movie 'Erol Flynn' actor in The Rocketeer... I've probably got some on really old video tapes from years ago...

OMG... I never saw The Rocketeer, how sad is that... I remember the trailer and ads for it though... I've probably got some on really old video tapes from years ago... You should purchase the DVD in widescreen (only way to go, now that its almost always available, for a serious collector)...its one of the most faithful comic book adaptions Ive ever seen, the actors look EXACTLY like their comic book counterparts...the direction is magnificent, the effects top drawer for what was possible (blue screen, good ol' miniatures, etc) for the early 90s...but as I mentioned, a GREAT adaption...then again, Im one of the ONLY people that thought George Lucas' 'Howard The Duck' was a TRULY faitheful adaption of a trult STRANGE comic... Check out my HTD site to see how much I appreciate this oddball flick.... www.geocities.com/cecinid/HowardIntro.htmlEverything there I created, from arcade games to a 'trailer' for the unmade 'sequel'... Except for The Tick Now that should get a movie The live action series was pretty lame, but it had it's moments, hehe... LOL Howard the Duck... hehe... sorry... it's just reminding me of something else I personally think that comic book characters and scenarios were MADE to make films from...bigger than life tuations and characters, fantasy settings and 'powers', etc...I LOVE that stuff! 'Spiderman' 1 & 2 were incredible, but the first 'Superman' film and 'The Rocketeer' are the best of the lot...alongside my belovedly horrible 'Howard' of course (in all seriousness, that film was amazingly true to the tone and feel of its comic book origins!) What was the 'something else' you thought of, by the way?... K

Hehe... see I'm not a fan of that stuff, I never liked comic book heroes... the only comics I own are Sonic the Hedgehog ones and Ren & Stimpy Oh and a Buffy one, but only because it was a special edition one, hehe... LOL The Howard the Duck thing is reminding me of another UK comedy called 'Little Britain'. One of the sketches involves a character, Dennis Waterman (actually based on the real actor, from the TV series 'Minder', which you probably won't know...) - anyway. He wrote the theme song for that show, and in the sketch he's always going to his manager to see about new roles for things, but never gets picked up because he insists on writing the theme tunes for everything. In one episode, the manager said that George Lucas had called him up to see if he'd be in the new Star Wars movie, but... well it's hard to explain, LOL! The basic quote: Jeremy: Aah, Dennis. I've had a call from George Lucas. Dennis: Ooh - he's the one who did Howard the Duck! Jeremy: And Star Wars... Dennis: Oh. Yeah. That. Well yeah, LOL ... it's a lot funnier seeing and hearing it than it is having me explain it

If you want to hear from George himself, regarding what he thinks would be a great way (jokingly) to redo 'Howard', visit my site, download the interview MP3 (its really small, just a few quotes)... www.geocities.com/cecinid/HowardIndex.htmlAlso, if you get the time, download the imaginary 'trailer' I created for the 'sequel', lemme know what ya think of it... Regarding the comic book observation you made at the start of your reply...I dont even READ comics, I occassionaly pick one up (or a 'Heavy Metal') for the artwork, mostly....seeing as Im a cartoonist myself, I love seeing other peoples work...and THAT sort of imagery, etc, just seems like it NEEDS to be the basis for great fantasy films, ya know?... Fair enough, hehe... I don't read comics that much any way... the comics I have are cool for pics and stuff... and Sonic comics are heaps rare over here - although, I thought they were, until I discovered a comic book store that has tons of the things But I don't have the money to burn on that sort of thing, I'd rather by DVDs and CDs
