In ' waiting for God' When asked if he believes in God, Rimmer replies "God? Certainly not! What a preposterous thought!", yet at the start of 'Bodyswap' he is seen coming back from church saying "Lovely service, you should have come...". Then, a mere minute or two later he says "I never agreed with with my parents religion" and goes onto to talk about them misreading the bible. Does this mean that Rimmer, in the absence of his parents/anyone who gives a smeg, has reverted to a different religion, or is this just an inconsistancy?

Hmm...interesting point. But going to a Service doesn't necessarily mean you believe in God. It might not have even been a Christian Service. He could be an Athiest I suppose...but I don't have the proof, lol...

He wasn't really religious beacause if he was he wouldn't understand why god was giving him such a bad life.

Lol!
Well...the way I see it, if you were angry with your life in the first place, you would want to blame it on someone, wouldn't you? Like he blames Lister for not being promoted:
LISTER: You can't be blame me for your lousy life!
Maybe he stopped being religious because over his life he had found that no matter how much he had prayed to God the problem was still there in the morning...:
LISTER: What d'you believe in then? D'you believe in God? RIMMER: God? Certainly not! What a perposterous thought!
I mean, to me that says he thinks it's stupid believing there is someone who can control the whole universe, and you know you get people who go moaning on about the television like 'If God loved us why did he create wasps? Why did my Husband die?'...
But...hey, nature is all about balance. Anesthetic takes away the pain, Wasps give it. As someone is born into the world, a person has to die to allocate room. If we all lived forever there would be no space...
Well, that's the philisophical way of looking at it anyway...
Jesus. Did I write that?

it's true,I don't believe in god,not because I don't believe there should be a balance but because,I have actually read the bible and inside it says something about insestry being one of the worst crimes. But Eve had three children but all were boys and that makes us all Insests,I think he flamingo'd up then.

What does Insest mean anyway? Apparently it's not a word, according to the Dictionary.

Insest isn't a word because it's actually spelt "incest". Or something similar.
Eve had quite a few more than three kids. And they weren't all boys.
After the Old Testemant alot of things changed because of Jesus dying, which is why most orthadox Jews seem more strict than most orthadox Christians, hence incestry being Ok in the Old Testemant and not being so Ok in the New Testament.
That's part of my understanding anyway. Me being a Christian. But I'm not very good at explaining stuff, lol.
And though Rimmer may attend "religious" ceromonies and such many people do without believing in God or a religion.
