Ok, so I saw the new Harry Potter film yesterday. I was great! Really quite scray for a kids film but quite funny too. Only thing I have with it is the change of director means that the school layout is different from the original. Hagrid's hut isn't just outside the school anymore, it's along a bridge, down a hill in a little valley.
Fortunately, much more use is made of Snape. He's my fave and he was in it much more than that in the second film. A lot was cut from the book, but the best bits were still in:
*Boggart snape in womans clothes *Hermione punching Malfoy *Harry in the invisibility cloak at the shreiking shack, scaring malfoy *ride on Buckbeak (looked brilliant!) *monster book of monsters (scart. My lil bro about hit the roof when it started biting!) * Aunt Marge being blown up
My concern is, that with a different director being brought in for film 4, will the school layout change yet again? The new professor Dunbledore does a good job of living up the Richard Harris's standards. Professor Lupin is quite sweet and Gary Oldman is underused as Sirius.
I'd give it 9/10 overall. The bits I didn't like were probably just the changes to the castle. With the first two films, the viewers kinda felt like they knew their way around hogwarts, everything looked familiar in the second film. This one, it looks like a different school.

Eee I finally got to see the movie! ;D I loved it, hehe. I really want to see it again... I agree with you on some of your points though. I thought it could have used more Snape, but the scenes he was in were great ;D Le'see, what did I like... Snape (well duh ) Harry (in practically every scene, mmm... LOL! Yeah ok, I like Dan, so? He's so good looking, damn man, and he's only 14, LOL! ) Buckbeak (he was cute! ;D ) Hermione punching Draco (you go girl ) Lupin (apart from that moustache thing ) Sirius (Oldman was very good) The music (Always loved it and always will) Draco's wussiness (LMAO! He was so pathetic it was hilarious ) And a bunch of other stuff They did leave out a ton of important things, like the marauders map past, ie. Lupin, Black, and the others, and how they formed their group. Also Snape giving Lupin his potion, etc... Overall I think yeah, 8.5-9/10 for me, hehe... it was great ;D

I saw it on Lybby's pirate (shh!) a few days ago. I actually fell asleep (well, I was tired!), bt it was still good. Alot darker than the others, but Ron was v. nice! Harry, not so much. I think he looks just like a male version of Lybby's sister, which is a bit of a coincidence sice she used to fancy him. Didn't Sirius look just like Billy Connely? I don't think Lupin was as involved as he was in the book. Shrek 2!!! Can't wait. What's everyone's favourite film? Mine's definately Shrek.

I want to see Shrek 2 as well, but I'm a little annoyed it's coming out around the same time as HP3, because it's taking some of the hype away... And why the <bleep> is Spiderman 2 all over the place? That just really irritates me... the cover of this months Empire magazine is all SpiderMan!!!! crud - HP3 should have been on the front, egnammit! Stupid biased magazine freaks... Haha that's my rant for the day I thought Harry was a cutie too which is shocking cos I'm 19 and he's like 15... LOL! Hey I'm 21 and I think he's cute Hehe

Well, I saw The Prisoner of Azkaban about a week after it opened (I don't know how I lasted that long to be honest!) & was very impressed - a thoroughly entertaining two & a half hours. It's my favourite out of the books, mainly because of Remus Lupin who is my favourite character of all the novels. Partly due to the fact he's a cracking teacher (which being in education myself I find admirable) but I seem to have developed a little bit of a werewolf fetish over the years... That aside, David Thewlis is another favourite of mine so I was pleased that he took on the role & really brought it to life. But yes, that moustache did look like he'd forgotten to wipe his mouth after a pint of butterbeer. Gary Oldman was also excellent as Sirius Black, but he wasn't on screen nearly as much as I'd have liked. The scene(s) between him & Harry in the end half of the film seemed very rushed indeed. The Marauder's Map was brilliant effects wise but not explaining the back story of who the Marauder's were, which to me, was the whole point of the map in the first place, was a strange thing to cut out of the film. It was hinted that Sirius, Remus, Pettigrew & James knew eachother but... A friend of mine who worked in the sfx department on the third (& now the fourth) movie hinted that the werewolf effects might not be so hot. A woman who worked on three animatronic wolves screwed up the fx work making them unusable so she thought werewolf Lupin would end up CG. She wasn't wrong...I thought it looked a bit rubbish, myself. If you've seen Van Helsing then *that's* what a werewolf is meant to look like! Otherwise the principle actors were on par, the music was fab (my sfx friend made the toads/frogs in the 'Double Trouble' scene), I liked the new grounds...Dumbledore's Irish accent was weird but...whatever! Oh, if anyone knows the name of the piece of music used in the Boggart in the wardrobe scene, could you let me know? It's not on the soundtrack & I'm desperate for it. I think he looks like Nora Batty there... Yours magically, [glow=red,2,300] .¸¸,ø¤º°*»Ruth«*°º¤ø,¸¸.[/glow]

RE: Lupin - Woot! ;D He's my new favourite character, LOL! RE: Werewolf appearance - YES! That's what I pictured more... He should have looked like that... RE: Boggart music - Someone told me it was Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman, but I'm doubtful... I saw the movie a 2nd time and tried to listen to the music but I'm not sure it was that song after all... It's a similar style though... Sort of that, Glenn Miller sound as well... Maybe there's a website that says what the music was...

Woot...?Is it just a general shout of joy or does it mean something more specific? It's had me wondering a while...
I'm checking out the Benny Goodman thing now & scouting out some Glenn Miller (who may or may not have been abducted by aliens)...so far my research on other sites about it have come up zero & it's not on imdb.com either...bah!
Yours thanking you for pointing me into a direction (possibly the right one),
